What is an ‘Initiative’?

an act or strategy intended to resolve a difficulty or improve a situation; a fresh approach to something.”

At The CLEAR Initiative, we believe in using new approaches to solve old problems. We believe the best way to create change long-term is to create intentional, community based strategies that attack the problem from all sides. Our initiatives each focus on a specific issue in sexual assault and provide a avenue to address it. All initiatives are community based, working to help educate, reform, and involve. They allow us to address all issues regarding sexual assault, including:

  • the experience of those who have been assaulted

  • the amount of sexual assault which will occur in the future

  • the current culture of sexual assault and sexual assault education

Each initiative is tailored to help children and teenagers understand, report, and heal from sexual assault.

Our Initiatives

‘Speak Up’ - Social Media Campaign

  • ‘Speak Up’ is the social media campaign that allows us to help other understand, report, and heal from sexual assault. It includes easy to understand reels for teenagers and stories told by survivors themselves.

  • During the #MeToo movement, we saw how many people were shocked by the prevalence of sexual assault. This social media campaigns allows us to bring back the attention MeToo brought and do it from a youth lens while giving a place to use your voice to heal.

  • Help us by telling your story, creating reels, and most importantly interacting with our social media. Click on the photo on the left to be taken directly to our Instagram.

‘Speak Out’ - Legislative Testimony Network

  • ‘Speak Out’ is our legislative testimony network. Every legislative session, we will monitor for bills related to SA. When a bill comes up, we’ll reach out to relevant people in our testimony network and ask them to submit a written, digital, or in person 2 minute testimony.

  • Our representatives handle bills for all people’s experiences everyday. For them to make effective decisions, they need to hear the voices of the community to understand the needs. Telling your story adds context to create more informed policy.

  • By simply signing up for our testimony network, you are helping hundreds improve their experience with sexual assault. Get involved by pressing the button below.

‘Make it CLEAR’ - Education Resources

  • ‘Make it CLEAR’ is our educational campaign. We focus on helping students and school staff understand sexual assault, response, reporting, and consent through presentations, conferences, printables, videos, and newsletters.

  • So many children that are assaulted do not understand that they were assaulted till years later, if later. Make it CLEAR aims to increase reporting by making it easier for kids to know when to report, without causing trauma from exposure of SA at a young age.

  • Help us create educational resources and videos.
